Our Strategy
Our business strategy for success revolves around three main points:
- First maintain a growing and successful traditional, feed and nutrition business (i.e. full-line meat, milk and egg production products sold direct or through traditional dealers to small to medium-sized producers) in the core market areas of the upper Midwestern U.S. and Prairie Provinces
of Canada.
- Second, invest and grow in feed and nutrition businesses (and segments) that offer higher profitability, longer-term sustainability, lower risk profiles and lower funds employed — such as blocks, specialty feed ingredients, premixes, companion animal and equine feeds, and specialty products throughout North America, whether through RNS, RFI, or RFO.
- Third, through a combination of aggressive growth in specialty businesses and the effective maintenance of the traditional business, earnings will both continue to grow and shift toward a smaller dependence on the less-attractive mature businesses and segments to a stronger position in more attractive long-term markets.
